Optimization Project, Canada, May
2000 -
The
project was initialized in May 2000. Throughout the period, May to October, we
installed/developed the necessary tools for collection of
“time relevant” process- & lab- data.
In April we started using our first version of the mathematical process
model that we developed, to optimize the process and develop production recipes.
The optimization and development of production recipes is still ongoing.
After
implementing the process recipes in April, we have decreased the process
variations. At the same time, we have improved product properties while
lowering the resin usage and maintaining the wood usage.
Since
we now have control of the process, we can start varying the process parameters
deliberately and analyze the results. By doing this we are enabling a
mathematical optimization of the process.
Currently,
we are implementing “optimized” customer and product specific production
recipes.
