Process Optimization 3 days

Background:

A cost efficient utilization of the production apparatus is a precondition for competitive companies. Many processes are complex though, which requires a well designed  optimization methodology, covering several steps.  This course shows how the production activities can be divided into manageable subsystems and how each subsystem can be individually optimized without compromising the overarching goal of increasing enterprise profit.

Target group:

Staff responsible for the process and operators.

Aim:

Make maximal utilization of industrial processes possible, through clarification of methodology and operation of process optimization projects.

Content:

Day 1

How can a production process be divided into manageable subsystems: Measuring, control, data issues, lab, etc. How does a successful optimization methodology look like: Measure-Control-Optimize. Describing Flowcharts, etc.

Day 2

Which are the different phases during the optimization project: Goal setting-Current situation analysis-Specification-Organization-Operation-Evaluation.

What type of information can be used: Info from the chain Raw material-Service.

Day 3

Which type of problems must be handled and how are they handled: Staff, Data bases, Data valuation, Parameter choices, Software installation, Evaluation.

How is a project specification written: Methodology, Exemplification.
